  12.           (TUCSON, Ariz. -- September 30, 1991) -- Artisoft announced today
  13.           its new LANtastic  10BASE-T Starter Kit, packaging  the LANtastic
  14.           Network Operating  System software (for  up to 300 users)  with a
  15.           Peer-Hub(TM)  10BASE-T  concentrator,   two  AE-1/T(TM)  Ethernet
  16.           adapters, cabling and  documentation. Scheduled to ship  in early
  17.           October 1991, it is priced at $899.     "The  LANtastic  10BASE-T
  18.           Starter    Kit   is   designed    to   provide    an   integrated
  19.           hardware/software  solution and one-stop  shop for end  users and
  20.           resellers," said Jack Schoof, Artisoft President and CEO.

  22.           Artisoft develops and  manufactures a full  line of hardware  and
  23.           software  for local area  networks including the  LANtastic Local
  24.           Area Network.  The LANtastic  network is  a peer-to-peer  network
  25.           that  allows users  of IBM-compatible  computers  to connect  and
  26.           share information and  peripheral devices such as  printers, hard
  27.           drives and CD-ROMs.      The AE-1/T Ethernet adapter is an 8-bit,
  28.           ISA  bus  network  adapter  for  use  with  IBM  PC/XT/AT 386/486
  29.           computers and compatibles. It offers a 10Mbps data transfer rate,
  30.           supports  8K of  onboard  RAM  and  is  software-compatible  with
  31.           Novell's NE1000 adapter.       The   AE-1/T   Ethernet  adapter's
  32.           telephone-style RJ45 jack connects to the  Peer-Hub concentrator,
  33.           or  any  standard  10BASE-T  hub,  with  unshielded  twisted-pair
  34.           cabling. The adapter  includes a link-integrity LED to  show if a
  35.           proper connection to  the hub has been made.  The AE-1/T Ethernet
  36.           adapter  also has a  special connector for  linking internally to
  37.           the Peer-Hub concentrator.    The  Peer-Hub  concentrator   is  a
  38.           complete 10BASE-T hub residing in a host PC. It has five external
  39.           10BASE-T  ports using modular RJ45 telephone-style jacks that can
  40.           connect to any standard 10BASE-T adapters. Its network management
  41.           software allows the host PC to  view the status of all ports,  as
  42.           well as activate or disable each port individually. Plus, onboard
  43.           EEPROM  saves  the  complete  network  configuration  to  memory,
  44.           guarding against power outage.     The Peer-Hub concentrator also
  45.           has three special internal connectors which have been designed to
  46.           connect  with  other  Artisoft(TM)  products.  One   provides  an
  47.           internal 10BASE-T connection to  Artisoft's AE-1/T, AE-2/T(TM) or
  48.           AE-3(TM)    Ethernet  adapters  without using  one  of  the  five
  49.           external RJ45 ports. Another  internal connector is used  to link
  50.           multiple Peer-Hub concentrators together; up to four per  PC. The
  51.           third option,  with  the separate  purchase  of an  Artisoft  AUI
  52.           Interface Kit, provides  an internal coax connection  between the
  53.           Peer-Hub  concentrator  and  an  Artisoft  AE-3 Ethernet  adapter
  54.           (which supports  thin  and thick  coax  in addition  to  10BASE-T
  55.           connections). Used in this manner, the AUI Interface Kit  creates
  56.           a  bridge between  the  10BASE-T network  on the  hub and  a coax          Ethernet segment attached to the AE-3 Ethernet adapter.     F o r
